ADOPTION PROCEDURE
Once you've found the cat of your dreams and wish to begin the adoption process, you only need to email Anjellicle Cats Rescue with your filled-out adoption application or as a pdf-document for printing.
Once your application is approved, we schedule you to attend a seminar on cat care. Then you would sign the adoption papers, pay the adoption fee, and make arrangements for the cat to be moved to your home. We always do a home visit which is both reassuring to the cat when it is being introduced and to the foster who has taken care of the cat. Presently we are doing home visits with FaceTime or Skype to confirm you have secure windows, no toxic plants and a generally safe environment for a cat.
We believe it is much kinder to adopt kittens with another kitten or cat unless there is already a cat or very cat-friendly dog already in their new home. For this reason, we do not adopt out single kittens.
ADOPTION SEMINAR
The seminar on cat care lasts about 75 minutes and offers valuable info on supplies, best practices and feline health. We invite both experienced and novice alike to attend and are presently offering this as an online group seminar via Zoom or Skype. You will receive a seminar packet with all the resources you’ll need.
We are a volunteer organization, please consider donating to help defray our medical and food costs.
ADOPTION FEE
We require an adoption fee of $150 for one cat under 7 years old. For cats 7 years and older, the adoption fee is $75. This fee helps to cover our veterinary costs and medical supplies.
All cats have been tested for the Feline Leukemia and FIV virus, vaccinated (FVRCP and Rabies vaccines), microchipped, dewormed and spayed/neutered.
If you adopt kittens that are too young to be altered, we will arrange the spay/neuter/microchip at a later date at a partner vet.
